The threat from hostile technical surveillance is a significant concern for law enforcement, military, and government organisations. This module provides a practical introduction to TSCM, covering the detection of RF transmitters, GPS trackers, audio and video recording devices, and network-based surveillance tools. Delegates will develop the skills to conduct a structured TSCM sweep and produce a clear assessment of the threat environment.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this module, delegates will be able to:
- Understand the range of technical surveillance devices and their operational characteristics
- Conduct a structured physical search of a premises or vehicle for surveillance devices
- Use RF detection equipment to identify active transmitters
- Identify indicators of network-based surveillance and data exfiltration
- Produce a TSCM assessment report and recommend appropriate counter-measures
- Develop a counter-surveillance programme for a high-value individual or premises
