Static and foot surveillance remain the most fundamental tools available to intelligence operatives. This module combines classroom instruction with extensive practical exercises in live environments, allowing delegates to develop and test their skills under realistic conditions. Emphasis is placed on team communication, trigger and follow procedures, cover stories, and the production of accurate intelligence product.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this module, delegates will be able to:
- Establish and manage a static observation post in an urban environment
- Conduct foot surveillance as part of a team using correct trigger and follow procedures
- Maintain effective cover and adapt to changing operational circumstances
- Communicate accurately and concisely using surveillance radio procedures
- Produce intelligence logs and reports to the required evidential standard
- Identify and respond to counter-surveillance activity by the subject
Eligibility & entry requirements
Open to verified Law Enforcement, Military, and Government agency personnel only. Completion of the Principles of Surveillance module or equivalent experience is recommended.
Certification
A 3B Intelligence Academy certificate of completion is awarded to delegates who successfully complete all assessed elements of the module.
