Mobile devices are now among the most significant sources of intelligence and evidence available to investigators. This module covers the full forensic process from device seizure and preservation through to data extraction and analysis, using industry-standard forensic tools. Delegates will gain hands-on experience with real device scenarios and develop an understanding of the legal framework governing digital evidence.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this module, delegates will be able to:
- Apply correct procedures for the seizure and preservation of mobile device evidence
- Use forensic extraction tools to recover data from a range of device types
- Analyse call records, messages, and location data to develop intelligence product
- Identify and interpret metadata from images and application data
- Understand the legal authorities and disclosure obligations governing digital evidence
- Produce forensic examination reports to the required evidential standard
Eligibility & entry requirements
Open to verified Law Enforcement, Military, and Government agency personnel only. Basic IT literacy is required; no prior forensic experience is necessary.
