Post-blast scene management requires a coordinated multi-agency response under significant operational pressure. This module covers the full scene management process from initial response and cordon establishment through to forensic recovery and handover. Delegates will develop an understanding of blast dynamics, evidence distribution patterns, and the specialist resources available to support post-blast investigations.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this module, delegates will be able to:
- Establish and manage an effective cordon and scene control structure at a post-blast scene
- Identify and preserve forensic evidence in a post-blast environment
- Understand blast dynamics and the implications for evidence distribution
- Coordinate with EOD, forensic, and investigative teams at a complex scene
- Apply correct evidence recovery and packaging procedures for post-blast material
- Contribute to the production of a scene examination record to the required standard
Eligibility & entry requirements
Open to verified Law Enforcement, Military, and Government agency personnel only. Completion of the IED Awareness module or equivalent operational experience is recommended.
Certification
A 3B Intelligence Academy certificate of completion is awarded to delegates who successfully complete all assessed elements of the module.
